Commercial
Rodent and insect pests are best controlled by a system of regular visits. The principles behind this are:
1. Inspection - Regular inspections of your premises identify the very first signs of rodents and insects. Any problems found are dealt with immediately and follow-up treatments are carried out until the pests are eradicated.
2. Detection - A system of rodent baits, monitors and insect detectors is used as an aid to early detection of pests. This reduces the risk of damage or contamination by ensuring the pest is removed from your premises promptly.
3. Reporting - A report detailing pest activity, control treatment carried out and any recommendations is left in a report book provided. This book will also contain information about any pesticides used. The reports are for your information but can also be vital in showing due diligence under the Food Safety Act.
4. Advise - Effective pest prevention is aided by good housekeeping practices and pest proofing (exclusion by sealing holes and gaps where pests can enter). We will work closely with you to give help and advise where appropriate.
The STEP Reporting Service
This service is designed to meet the needs of the food, pharmaceutical and related industries. It places greater emphasis on recording and reporting so that you and your customers can see exactly what is being done to protect your premises.
STEP Reporting is a planned system of monitoring and quality control checks. The positions of pest detectors are recorded on site plans and checks lists covering the whole site.
As well as the regular visits, there are in-depth inspections by a qualified pest biologist who will also send a detailed report.
